This is probably my favorite story in the series, because I just LOVED Pippen and I wanted him to have a happy ending with his pack and family so badly! I'm such a sucker for the character who had a rough past and doesn't feel like he's deserving of a HEA or having something for himself, and I loved reading about Pippen trying to come to terms with him wanting something and someone not meaning weakness.I also liked the interactions with the packs, how Felix has now taken over the other pack in the area, and everyone being a family in this series.
This was a fun series and I think that the author will be starting a new series but with some of the same characters? I can't wait!

This fourth book in the Wolf's Mater series builds on the often strong-but-wounded theme of characters in previous installments. The characters have backgrounds that are a bit darker than those usually found in shifter mpreg romances.
Normally, I find shifter mpreg to be overly sweet as well as racing through key developments. This author adds more exposition, although occasionally it feels a bit like trudging through. Of course, there are the requisition sizzling scenes, and they are interspersed throughout (and they generally don't dominate and/or interrupt the story/action/relationship as much as the explicit heat often does in mpreg romances.)
3.5 stars - rounded to four a bit more harsh, streetwise backgrounds than usually found in shifter mpreg
Wow, I don't really know where to start. I enjoyed Pippen's book but what is up with so many psycho alphas, don't get me wrong I wouldn't change this book nor the web weaved by this book's psycho but geez and oh Mr. Lion shifter wink wink how you doing, sure we'll be seeing you again soon.😀
Okay, pips kicks butt in and out of the pool which is cool (ugh I had to say it). I'm still not sure about how I feel about Connor and the his past err surprises but in the end it was all well and good, but still he's smart enough to know pips could do some damage if not handled with care. I admit I was looking forward to some knife throwing mood swings, but oh well. It had a little bit of everytying and would have given it a solid 5 stars but I'm a bit tired of psycho alphas in every book, but its pips so the mind game user psycho works. So now what happens to Luke's decreased pack? Does he even have a semblance of a pack anymore at this point isn't it really just a family family and not a pack family? How does that work now? Since it was now mentioned about 'so many other shifters beyond wolfs' can't wait see where we're headed next. Despite the common theme among the series the books are worlds different based on each character involved. I enjoy Kiki's books and can't wait for the next one.

Protecting Pippen is so worth the wait, I loved it! After two readings I am still loving it.
In this installment Pippen finally has his say and he has more than a mouthful. We learn the how and why of Pippen and that he's more than an wolf with a knife. He's super intelligent, fiercely loyal, outrageously vicious and has a big heart wrapped in a titanium shell. The calm, laid Connor surprised me the most, I had a feeling he had secrets but what was revealed, I never expected.
Connor and Pippen together set off some serious fireworks and when I wasn't fanning my face, I was either laughing or fighting tears. They are so much more than their biology, they are each others half. The way Connor can get Pippen to...be calm and still is short of amazing. They make each other want more and be more for the lack of a better word.
The plot is just wow, there's drama, some suspense and oh the action is spectacular. Pippen is a beast who can kick a$% and take names later, it doesn't surprise me Connor gets excited every time Pippen pulls his blade. Sooooooo HOT. I enjoyed the blasts from both of their pasts as it adds a little more depth to the story and helped me to understand Connor and Pippen better. Their past painted the perfect picture of who they are today and why.
This is a must read and I hope there's more to come. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy for an honest and unbiased review.
I'm so glad we finally got to read Pippen's story, and what a story. Pippen, strong and dangerous, felt that he didn't belong. Conner knew from the moment he saw Pippen, that he was his. And he did everything possible to prove that to Pippen. I really enjoyed this book. They're my new favorite couple.
Loved it! I just stumbled upon this series....not usually my genre, but really liked it. Very stimulating
This was a very intense story with romance, drama, suspense and hot sex. I loved the relationship between Pippen and Connor. There were moments that had me happy, scared, crying and blushing. Looking forward to reading the 5th book.
Learning that loving doesn't weaken you is a hard lesson for the main character. In this segment everyone's past catches up with them with various results.
